As many know the main cause of bad breath is the anaerobic bacteria found primarily on the surface of the tongue. These bacteria excrete a variety of foul-smelling sulfur compound, including hydrogen sulfide (giving the smell of rotten egg) and methyl mercaptan. These compound are commonly known as volatile sulfur compound (VSCs).

Anaerobic means "without oxygen". This means these bacteria loves environment that is acidic and lacking in oxygen. And it also means they hate environment where oxygen is in abundance and not acidic.

Now, if you see what I am trying to tell you here, you are on your way to getting rid, or at least control, your bad breath. How? By changing the environment of your mouth to be in abundance of oxygen, and less acidic.

This is where hydrogen peroxide comes in.

Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical compound, H2O2 that is colorless, syrupy liquid, and is a strong oxidizing agent. In water solution, it is a weak acid.

To solve the first problem of lack of oxygen, mix a solution of one part 3% hydrogen peroxide and one part salty water. If salty water is not for you, try use plain water. If possible use distilled or purified water. Please make sure you use 3% hydrogen peroxide. Anything stronger may give your stomach a funny feeling.

After brushing and flossing, scrape your tongue with tongue scraper to remove the protective layers and debris from your tongue. Then gargle and swish the solution you just made around your mouth for one or two minutes at least. The longer the better. If you can do it for three minutes then that is much better. You can immediately wash your mouth with plain water. You may want to refrain from food for a few minutes after gargling with this mix.

Now, let's try to solve the second problem - the acidity of your mouth.

If you have ever learned science in school, the opposite of acid is alkali. Hence, to reduce acidity is by introducing alkaline as a balance. Here is where baking soda plays its role. You can mix a little baking soda in some water, and use that mix to gargle again for another couple of minutes. You can also use the baking soda as toothpaste without mixing it with water, and brush your teeth with it. It is up to you. Do what works for you.

There you have it. The above steps should be able to solve many bad breath cases. The bottom line is to try various combinations of the above and see which one works the best for you.

Bad Breath and Acid Reflux

Is there a connection between bad breath and acid reflux? Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition where stomach contents return up the esophagus, sometimes all the way to the mouth, causing heartburn and an unpleasant bitter taste. Many professionals and health writers list GERD as a possible cause of bad breath, but few go into any detail about what produces the bad odor. Given that there may be a demonstrable connection, there are a couple of explanations we can consider.

First, symptoms of bad breath and acid reflux often strike after consumption of a large meal. Many foods, though we love to eat them, don't smell too good on the breath afterwards. These include garlic (probably the best known food cause of bad breath), onions, strong cheeses, spicy foods, alcoholic beverages, and a number of other foods. When a recently consumed meal is pushed back up the esophagus, it wouldn't be surprising that an unpleasant smell is produced on the breath.

Secondly, it's no secret that one's stomach contents don't smell too good. The stomach is an acid environment where foods start to break down in preparation for digestive processes in the intestine. If enough time has passed since the food was consumed, stomach contents that return up the esophagus in a case of GERD will have the sharp acidic smell of vomit - an unpleasant odor producing an atypical halitosis and suggesting a link between bad breath and acid reflux.

Thirdly, in cases of chronic GERD, acid stomach liquids repeatedly come in contact with, and burn, the lining of the esophagus. Because the damage recurs frequently, the tissue never has time to heal completely and is thus chronically irritated with continual production of dead tissue. Dead tissue has an unpleasant odor, and when it is present in the esophagus, it's likely to produce an indirect connection between bad breath and acid reflux.

But, the truth is, there doesn't seem to be a really strong correlation between bad breath and acid reflux itself. A relatively low percentage of people with GERD experience chronic halitosis. Instead, researchers recently reported at the 71st Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology (2006) that there is an apparent connection between proton pump inhibitors (drugs commonly used to treat GERD), and chronic bad breath. The drugs, it seems, may cause an overgrowth of odor producing bacteria in the mouth - and anaerobic odor producing bacteria in the mouth are by far the most common cause of chronic halitosis.

Bad breath causes

Have you experienced having someone close to you- a friend maybe, which happens to own stinky breath?

Or, that you keep a hard time telling some person that she/he has a bad breath? I understand because I had the same experience and no stuff how much we looked-for to tell that someone who has the terrible flaw, we still can t do it, smooth if you can, the brooding of spitting the words out is not easy.

But, before we start sense bad for anyone alongside bad breath, it would be paramount to know the possible bad breath causes. Bad breath, or halitosis, is usually caused by the presence of bacteria in the mouth. Bacteria also consume food and excrete wastes, just like humans do. The wastes produced by the bacteria are sulfur compounds, which are odorous and are usually one of the bad breath causes. But, we still have to consider that there are other factors which affect the odor of one s breath, such as food, smoking, having a dry mouth, gum disease, sinus conditions, untreated medical conditions, etc.

Food is also one of the contributing factors of bad breath. There are some foods known to cause one s mouth to stink, such as garlic and onions- the most common examples. Every time we eat, our digestive system breaks the food that we ate into molecules. If we have eaten odorous foods, the tendency is that these molecules are absorbed into our circulatory system, resulting to their distribution throughout our body as nourishment.

During the circulation process, when the blood travels through our lungs, some of the molecules will be released into them and as a result, when we exhale we let out some of the odorous molecules- simply called bad breath. But this condition is temporary and will be gone in just a matter of day. So, to minimize this problem, try avoiding too much consumption of these kinds of foods.

Smoking maybe one of bad breath causes with which tar, nicotine and other bad smelling substance from tobacco smoke accumulate on the smoker's teeth and oral tissue. But then this can be remedied through proper oral hygiene. On the other hand, smoking can lead to drying of oral tissues and those who smoke have greater risk of having gum disease than those who don t, which are contributing factors to bad breath.

Are you one of those who don't seem to have bad breath issues, yet have offending breath in the morning when you wake up? This is due to the reducing of salivary flow when we sleep, resulting to the drying of your mouth. The presence of moisture found in our mouth, like our saliva, makes us swallow, therefore, helping our mouth cleanse it. Every time we swallow, we also wash away the bacteria with the food with which they feed and the wastes they've produced.

Gum disease or periodontal disease is the second most common of bad breath causes. This disease is a problem mostly for people more than 35 years and above; the older you get the more likely your bad breath is caused by periodontal disease. This is a bacterial infection located in the tissues surrounding your teeth. This gum disease damaged the bones that hold the teeth in place and creating deep spaces between teeth and gums (called periodontal pockets) which can become an ideal ground for bacteria to live.

For all you know sinus condition can contribute to your bad breath. Respiratory infections and allergies can promote the flow of postnasal drip onto the back part of your tongue. The discharge usually has a bad smell and taste, and worse, these are what bacteria will feed from which in turn produce stinky wastes- as a result bad breath!

Untreated medical condition may not be the primary reason of the bad breath causes, yet can be a potential contributing factor. If bad stirring persists even after you have consulted your dentist and tried simple solutions, it s about time you need to consult a doctor. If you have stinky breath, it s impossible that you can t be aware of it for long. From the bad breath causes discussed above, they should give you clearer ideas of the possible underlying reasons why there are people with bad breath.

Most of the people have been battling with bad breath problem for many years. They have tried numerous ways to cure bad breath problem but still can't manage to get the desired result. However, there is a fast, pleasant and effective way that you can use to get rid of bad breath problem so that:

1. your teeth and gum will start to disappear within days, not months
2. you breath will start improve immediately
3. you will look better and feel better, and your confident level will be much higher
4. you will not feel embarrassment caused by bad breath, as you are free from bad breath problem now

There are lots of things that cause Bad Breath. The main 5 are; 1. Medications (including allergy medications) 2. Alcoholic beverages 3. Mouthwash with alcohol 4. Smoking 5. Dry mouth So, everyday over-the-counter hygiene products, beverages and medications can be the cause of your bad breath. Medications and alcohol dry out the mouth, which creates less saliva and can lead to less oxygen in the mouth. The combination of these two factors create the perfect breeding ground for the Anaerobic Sulfur-Producing Bacteria that cause Bad Breath. In laymans terms, oral bacteria causes Bad Breath. Think of your breath in the morning, it is probably not top-notch. This is because at night your mouth is resting and is drier than when you are awake. This is therefore the ideal time for bacteria to grow. This is the reason that when you wake up you are greeted with Morning Breath. When you are sick and congested, and breathing out of your mouth, you will probably notice that your breath smells. This is because your mouth is dry, so creates more bacteria, which causes Bad Breath. How do I Avoid the Bacteria That Causes Bad Breath? Those commercials and ads that tell us to pop a mint or use a mouth wash to deal with Bad Breath aren't always accurate. Many of the mints and washes people use to combat Bad Breath, can actually cause it or make it worse. This is because they only "MASK" the Bad Breath. The bacteria that causes Bad Breath live and breed beneath the surface of the tongue, on the tonsils and in the throat, not on the surface where it can be scraped or brushed off or dissolved with a wash or mint. Therefore, instead of getting rid of Bad Breath, many of these products contain alcohol which dries out the mouth creating a much more favorable environment for these odorous bacteria to grow. There are certain foods, like garlic and onions, which can cause bad breath because they contain the same compounds, previously discussed, that create Bad Breath. If you eat these foods regularly, it can create higher amounts of bacteria and lead to halitosis. The catch is that the Anaerobic Sulfur-Producing Bacteria that can cause bad breath are in everyone's mouth, because they are needed to assist in breaking down proteins in certain foods.

The cause of bad breath on low carb diets

The latest dieting craze has no doubt been the low carb high protein diets. Those of you on Atkins, South Beach etc will no doubt have noticed a number of changes since you took up the diet. And no I'm not talking about the remarkable weight loss I am talking about your bad breath. Now it may not have been noticeable to you but I suggest you ask your friends or relatives whether there has been a detioration and you may be surprised by the answer. In fact you may even find your friends moving away from you when you speak which is always a sure sign of bad breath.

So what's the cause of all this bad air? Well depending on which medical speak you speak with there are a number, yet similar, reasons for the problem. One of the reasons is directly related to the increase in protein which most of the low carb diets advocate.

Basically, we all have a large number of useful bacteria living mainly on our tongue and at the back of our throat. These bacteria are supposed to be there, because they assist humans in digestion by breaking down proteins found in specific foods, mucous or phlegm, blood, and in diseased or "broken-down" oral tissue. When these "beneficial" bacteria come into contact with these compounds, the odorous and "lousy-tasting" volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs') are released from the back of the tongue and throat, as Hydrogen Sulphide, Methyl Mercaptan, and other odorous and bad tasting compounds.

Since the bacteria are meant to be in our mouth there is no way we can remove them permanently. So, no amount of brushing or tongue scraping will get rid of the VSCs'. The only scientifically proven way of curing your bad breath (Halitosis) is by attacking the bacteria's ability to produce VSCs' and by converting the VSC into non-odorous and non-tasting organic salts.

There are a number of ways in which the problem is worsened and the most common way is with dry mouth. This generally occurs while you are asleep and hence the reason you sometimes wake up with "morning breath".

Although some cases of dry mouth are naturally occurring, most cases are caused by one of these factors: 1. Prescription Medications (usually prescribed for high blood pressure or depression) 2. Antihistamines 3. Adult Beverages 4. Mouthwashes with alcohol in them

When your mouth is dryer, you have less Saliva. Saliva naturally contains Oxygen, which keeps your mouth healthy and fresh. These bacteria are anaerobic, which simply means that they will thrive and make more sulfur in the presence of little or no oxygen. Thus if you have less Saliva, you have less oxygen, thereby creating an anaerobic environment, perfect for the bacteria to produce more of these odorous and sour/bitter compounds. Because of the increase in higher protein foods, on an Atkins type diet, especially dairy products, the amount of Volatile Sulfur Compounds increases dramatically and as such your breath gets worse accordingly. The only way to fight the problem is to try and supply oxygen to the bacteria causing the problem and remove as much of the VSCs' as possible. This can be done in a number of ways:

- Drink loads of water. This will help ensure your tongue and throat are kept moist and supplying oxygen to the VSC producing bacteria. - Always clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner before brushing your teeth last thing at night and first thing in morning. You should also try and do this after every meal too. - Use a mouthwash which does not contain any alcohol as alcohol can dry your mouth and make the problem worse. You can also dramatically improve matters by using an oxygenating mouthwash. You can find one by doing a Google on "oxygenating mouthwash". - Don't chew gum, which contains sugar, to try and mask the bad breath. This can make matters worse. Use a sugar free gum instead.

The bottom line is that low carb diets will cause bad breath, although for some it will be a lot worse than others. However, help is at hand so if you want to shed the weight and not shed any friends then make sure and heed the advice given above.

A self confessed low carb food junkie Andrea Simpson has lost over 40lbs on low carb diets. Andrea runs a website devoted to low carb eating.

How To Cure Bad Breath Permanently

As humans, being liked, popular and sought after is a natural desire inherent in each of us. This is why deodorants, toothpastes, gym memberships and fancy cars sell at astronomical rates. This is also why mints are so popular and hardly a day goes by without someone at work, school or in public asking you ?do you have some gum?? You already know what that person may be trying to curb or correct: Bad Breath. (It also relieves you this person didn?t offer you some!)

I wrote once in an article in my blog titled ?You?ve lost the weight but how clean are you on the inside?? that exterior indications-though very convincing and at times correct-don?t necessary depict proper health, as disease may manifest itself in various ways. One strong indication of disease is always stench, as a result, if you suffer from bad breath or as is Medically diagnosed, halitosis, this is a sign that you need to make some drastic dietetic changes or undergo a cleanse to curb this unpleasant occurrence.

Using toothpastes (especially the controversial and hazardous fluorinated ones), mints and chewing-gums to curb bad breath, like any artificial drug for any disease, doesn?t cure this ailment but only masks its symptoms temporarily-only for it to come back in full force. This explains why we as humans become addicted to all sorts of unnatural and oft time hazardous substances ranging from pain killers to alcohol.

The necessary and very effective measures one should take in eliminating bad breath are the following (you can trust this author who even upon waking up doesn?t have the so-called ?morning breath?, falsely and commonly accepted as being natural?nothing my friends could be further from the truth!)

1. Make a change in your diet; for as is known in every culture known to man; ?You are what you eat!? Hippocrates- the Father of Medicine once said: ?Let your foods be your medicine and your medicines your food?, well ?what should I eat?? the uninformed might ask: Plain and simple: alkaline forming/mucus binding foods also known as, you guessed it right (if you?ve read my other articles elsewhere) Fruits and Vegetables.

One common indication of disease besides stench is always mucus and this is introduced into the body by only one means, what you consume, therefore all measures should be taken to eat the foods that not only nourish you but have the added ability and benefit of being able to bind and eradicate the excessive mucus.

I am not trying to be a pro-vegan or vegetarian (heck I?ve smelled bad breath and strong body odor on the most blindly fanatical of both kinds of people before) but, from experiments and being a nature lover, all vegetarian animals-free of human captivity or at least allowed to eat their natural diets (for examples the grazing cattle who consume only grass) DO NOT have any bad breath. For a good example of a suggested daily menu plan, look for my article on ?How to get rid of Acne in 10 days? on this site as space is a constricting factor at this time.

2. Practice basic natural oral hygiene. As I indicated in the core e-book of my site, practitioners of Yoga such as the hard-core ones in India, Africa and even here in the USA know of such ancient techniques of cleansing the body that-though not as necessary for the beginner-are very, very effective for eliminating bad breath.

Type ?kunjar kriya? up in Google and read what this process is. Being an advanced technique that must be practiced under supervision, a simple and less repugnant (if you think) process will be:

- Brushing the teeth with a toothbrush and pure all natural un-iodized Sea-salt or using an African Chewing stick or even a firm toothbrush exclusively. I always get compliments on my dentition and smile and besides my mother?s genes (if I may be so vain) using one of these methods has proven to me to be the safer and more effective methods of dental hygiene as outlined in chapter 11 of the text mentioned elsewhere in this article.

- Massage the gums with your clean index fingers. This essential practice strengthens the gums and cleans out impurities from its pores.

- After this; join the index, middle and ring fingers and massage the back of the tongue thoroughly for the same purpose.

- When you are done with these two procedures, scrape the tongue thoroughly with a tongue scraper designed exclusively for this or a blunt bread-knife. Intermittently, between all the steps above, you should rinse the mouth with warm saline water and ensure to gargle with this solution upon completion.

As you may have observed from the steps above (and in most of my articles) alleviating the symptom of a discomfort such as bad breath is mostly a two-part procedure: A drastic change in the diet (internal) and natural cleansing procedures/exercises (external). To complete the three limbs of Naturopathy, your positive and open-minded approach in reading this article takes care of the positive thinking aspect.

It never ceases to amaze me how the population so naively accepts mere fads, hyped products and so called drugs to eradicate the myriad of our modern day ailments, but take it from a guy who suffered (note the PAST tense) from asthma, acne, bad breath and depression for a long length of time, most if not all common diseases of this age can and will be things of the past if some basic all-natural methods such as the steps above for bad breath are applied. Bad breath, morning breath, breath odor or halitosis are all terms used to describe a noticeably unpleasant odor exhaled on the breath. Halitosis is not a problem by itself, but it can cause concerns in our interpersonal relationships.

We are all familiar with how the consumption of certain foods such as garlic and onions can affect our breath. This occurs because these foods are absorbed into our bloodstream, where they are transferred to our lungs and exhaled. Fortunately, bad breath caused by the foods we eat is only temporary.

The truth is, most breath odor comes from food particles trapped in our mouths. When food remains in the mouth, it becomes a breeding ground for the bacteria that can cause bad breath. Other causes can include poor oral health, improper cleaning of dentures, periodontal disease as well as smoking & tobacco products. Bad breath can also be sign of an underlying medical condition of the stomach, lungs and bloodstream.

Another little known situation that can contribute to halitosis is xerostomia (dry mouth). When our mouth is dry, saliva production decreases, leaving the mouth's natural ability to clean itself impaired. Saliva is the mouth's natural mouthwash, which contains properties that reduces bacteria in the mouth. Alcohol consumption, certain medications, breathing through the mouth instead of the nose or a salivary gland disorder can contribute to having a dry mouth.

Recommendations For Wellness

Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly after every meal to remove food particle from the mouth.

When you are brushing your teeth, also brush your tongue. The tongue is covered with thousands of tiny hairs that can trap bacteria.

Have regular check-ups with your dentist to rule out gum disease and to correct any faulty restorations, overhanging fillings or leaking crowns, all of which can trap food in the mouth.

Chew sugarless gum or suck on sugarless lozenges to increase the flow of saliva.

If your mouth is dry, drink plenty of water. Try swooshing it around in your mouth for at least twenty seconds to loosen any food particles the bacteria can feed upon.

Avoid breath mints and mouthwashes that contain alcohol. Instead of helping, they can make things worse. They only temporarily cover the smell and tend to dry the mouth, creating a more favorable environment for bacteria.

Snacking on vegetables such as raw celery or carrots can keep plaque from forming.

If you are going to an important meeting or on a big date, avoid foods that can cause bad breath, such as onions and garlic.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine consumption, which can dry the mouth.

Quit smoking. Tar and nicotine can build up on the surface of the teeth, tongue and cheeks. It can also dry the mouth and inhibit saliva flow.

Chlorophyll is a natural breath freshener and is found in leafy green vegetables like parsley.

A few drops of peppermint or tea tree oil can be applied to the tongue or toothbrush to help freshen the breath. In addition to its refreshing nature, their antibacterial properties will kill the bacteria found in the mouth.

Baking soda has a long history of being used to maintain good oral health and for fighting bad breath.

A mixture of 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% water can be swooshed around in the mouth and used as a mouthwash. Hydrogen peroxide can kill many of the bacteria that can cause bad breath.

Simple Tips To Prevent Bad Breath

Bad breath simply comes and goes for some people. Perhaps we only wake up with bad breath in the morning. Or eating certain foods, like onion or pizza. These are more obvious triggers for bad breath. But the bacteria that release the volatile sulfur compounds of bad breath find a great breeding ground in tongues that are coated or lined with cracks. Mucous and phlegm also contain proteins, and these bacteria exist to break down proteins. So if you suffer from phlegmatic nasal conditions, there's a good chance there is an associated increase in bad breath.

However, despite any existing conditions like fissured tongues or excess phlegm, that are more difficult to change, there are things we can avoid to minimize bad breath occurring.

What makes bad breath worse?

* A dry mouth:

Saliva keeps bad breath at bay because it is rich in oxygen. The bacteria that lead to symptoms of bad breath are anaerobic bacteria, meaning they live in an environment that does not have oxygen. When you have a dry mouth you're creating an environment that is more similar to their 'home', one that has little oxygen. So the bacteria thrive, and so does bad breath.

This is a problem for people who sleep with their mouths open, in particular. Breathing through your mouth all night dries out your mouth so you wake up with less-than-pleasant morning breath.

* Certain foods that are high in protein like meat, and for those who are lactose intolerant, dairy:

If you don't digest dairy products well, the bacteria have more of a chance to digest the proteins in milk and produce the volatile sulfur compounds that result in bad breath.

* Not flossing:

Similarly, if you don't floss after a meal, especially if you've eaten meat, the bacteria in your mouth have ample time to break down the meat proteins stuck between your teeth.

* Acidic foods and drinks like coffee:

Acidic foods and drinks create an environment in which bacteria will multiply faster

* Alcohol:

Even if its in a mouthwash, alcohol will dry your mouth out, and then you have all the bad breath problems associated with a dry mouth

* Sugar:

Sugar is food for bacteria. Enough said!! And this is why even mint flavored sugar products won't make your breath smell any better.

* Toothpaste containing SLS, or sodium laureth sulfate:

SLS is a harsh chemical that damages the lining of the mouth, albeit on a microscopic level. In the lab, SLS is used to destabilize membranes, and make protein and fats soluble. That's why it has a 'soapy' or foaming effect. Because it is a soap, it has a drying effect in your mouth. This of course leads to bad breath. It has also been linked to canker sores, and many people who suffer from these have found relief by switching to a toothpaste that doesn't contain SLS.

What Causes Bad Breath Anyway?Thuvarakan Tharmalingam

occasional case of bad breath. It's estimated that 50 to 65
percent of the population suffer from bad breath. A few
unfortunate people suffer from chronic bad breath, seeming
never to get rid of the foul odor that escapes every time
they open their mouth. But what is the main cause of bad
breath?

Like all living organisms, we have a variety of other
organisms that live in or on us in a constant balance of
life. In case of bad breath, the main cause is the bacteria
that normally occur within your mouth; or more specifically
the waste products these bacteria produce from their normal
biological life.

Life of Bacteria in Your Mouth

Your body is a host to
billions of bacteria, and the majority of them are
beneficial to you; there are bacteria in your stomach which
aid food digestion, there are helpful bacteria on your skin
which protect you against other harmful bacteria, and there
are bacteria that just love the environment of your mouth.
The last type is called anaerobic bacteria.

Anaerobic bacteria live best in conditions where there is no
oxygen. There are plenty of places for anaerobic bacteria to
live in your mouth; under the gum line, on the back of your
tongue, between the teeth, and just about any place in your
mouth that may be covered by a thin film. It is the waste
products of the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath.

Again, a person's mouth is home to hundreds of different
species of bacteria. There is a constant battle going on in
your mouth at all times. A battle for living space between
that cause bad breath and those that don't. The precise
balance between these types of bacteria, determines the
freshness of your breath.

How Do They Cause Bad Breath?

Through normal living
process, these bacteria produce waste products in your
mouth. The most common of these are volatile sulfur
compounds with very unpleasant odor. These compounds are
referred to as "volatile" because they readily evaporate
when exposed to air under normal temperatures. This
volatility of these compounds can offend those around you
very quickly.

While these volatile sulfur compounds are principal factor
of bad breath cause, the anaerobic bacteria produce numerous
other compounds that also have such offensive odors. They
include:

* Cadaverine - creates the smell associated with corpses
* Putrescine - causes the odor of decaying meat
* Skatole - has the characteristic smell of human feces
* Isovaleric Acid - produces the smell of sweaty feet

What Do Anaerobic Bacteria Eat?

The waste products
mentioned above are produced as anaerobic bacteria digest
proteins. Therefore, anytime you eat a source of protein,
the bacteria in your mouth get a meal too.

Even without an obvious source of protein, the anaerobic
bacteria in your mouth can find a protein source anytime.
There are many natural protein sources in your mouth, from
dead skin cells to proteins found in saliva.

Conclusion

While you can't do anything about the fact that
bacteria live in your mouth, it is important to realize that
the disturbed balance between anaerobic bacteria and other
types is a key factor in the cause of bad breath. You should
do everything you can to make the conditions of your mouth
as unattractive to anaerobic bacteria as possible.

products of the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath.
